Premier Foods in Andover is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the on-site engineering team, drive availability and reliability of all equipment, and deliver production safely and cost-effectively. The role combines hands-on work with strategic leadership within a small team.

You will develop a 5-year maintenance strategy, manage capital budgets, mentor engineers, and ensure compliance with EH&S policies while aligning with Premier Foods leadership values and site vision.

Qualifications

• BEng Degree (Mech, Elec, Mnf) or equivalent, with related professional qualifications.
• Minimum of 5 years in FMCG engineering management.
• Experience managing a team of around seven engineers.
• Strong leadership and change management in a trade union environment.
• Proven track record of improving equipment availability.
• Knowledge of modern maintenance practices.
• Able to coach, develop, and manage performance; basic budgeting skills.
• NEBOSH / IOSH qualifications.

Responsabilités

• Lead the engineering team to improve availability and reliability of equipment.
• Develop and implement a 5-year maintenance strategy aligned with site goals.
• Plan, execute and monitor capital projects with central engineering.
• Manage the engineering budget, energy, and utilities costs.
• Identify training needs and develop engineering colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with EH&S policies and facilities management regulations.
• Set priorities for engineering workload with operations, mentor engineers, and drive site leadership.
• Oversee subcontractors and spares management; monitor KPIs for efficiency.
