Job summary

MD Group is seeking an experienced Floor Layer to operate around Eastbourne, covering repairs and maintenance contracts. You will lay all types of flooring including vinyl and carpet, ensuring jobs are completed in a single visit.

The ideal candidate holds a main trade qualification (NVQ 2/3 or City & Guilds) and can perform two other trades. A full UK driving licence and your own tools are required, along with Health & Safety certificates.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2/3 or City & Guilds in flooring or equivalent.
• Ability to perform a minimum of 2 other trades.
• Experience with vinyl and carpet fitting.

Responsibilities

• Lay a variety of floor coverings including vinyl and carpet.
• Complete repairs/maintenance tasks to ensure single-visit completion.
• Work around Eastbourne and surrounding areas.
• Maintain high-quality workmanship and safety standards.

• £17.31 per hour (£36,000 per annum)
• Up to 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)

The Floor Layer Role:

We have an opportunity for an experienced Floor Layer to work in and around Eastbourne and surrounding areas, covering repairs and maintenance contracts. It is key that they can complete a variety of tasks, to ensure that repairs/orders can be completed in a single visit. It's a requirement that the candidate can lay all types of flooring - including cap and cove. Any other additional skills is a bonus.

The ideal Floor Layer candidate will have:

• One main trade qualification (or time served trades experience) e.g. NVQ 2, NVQ 3, City & Guilds, combined with the ability to perform a minimum of 2 other trades to acceptable standards
• Knowledge of working with a fitting a variety of floor coverings including vinyl and carpet
• Current Health & Safety Training certificates (including, but not limited to, Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, Manual Handling & Risk Assessments)
• An understanding and be able to use effectively (after training) equipment and processes which may be reasonably required by the Company
• Experience and a passion for delivering high quality services to a diverse range of customers
• Full driving licence with own tools
