Job summary

Moxie People is recruiting a compassionate Floating Support Worker in Cardiff to support individuals experiencing homelessness. You will deliver person-centred, trauma-informed support and empower clients to access services and build independence.

The role involves community-based work, managing client appointments, and collaborating with partner agencies. A full UK driving licence and Enhanced DBS with Update Service are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in support work or homelessness services.
• Confident completing support plans, needs assessments and risk assessments.
• Able to work independently in a community setting.
• Skilled at building positive relationships with clients, colleagues and agencies.
• Knowledgeable about safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Organised and accurate records and working towards service targets.
• Full UK driving licence and Enhanced DBS with Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Delivering person-centred support: Build positive, trusting relationships and help clients achieve goals while maintaining choice and control.
• Creating and reviewing support plans: Complete regular reviews and update plans within required timescales.
• Assessments and safeguarding: Conduct needs and risk assessments using trauma-informed approaches.
• Working with partner agencies: Coordinate with external services and multi-agency meetings.
• Promoting financial stability: Help clients access benefits and maximise income.
• Coordinating support: Oversee Assistant Support Workers when needed.
• Making referrals: Connect clients to additional services when required.
• Maintaining accurate records: Update client management systems and meet contractual requirements.
• Achieving service outcomes: Support KPIs and quality standards.
• Working safely and professionally: Follow lone-working rules and safeguarding guidance.
• Supporting the wider team: Communicate effectively and participate in training.
