Job summary

Southwark Council is seeking a Floating Support Officer to join the Supported Lettings Team. You will help residents move from homelessness services into private rented accommodation and provide ongoing floating support to sustain tenancies and prevent relapse into homelessness.

You will work with landlords, health services and voluntary partners to assess needs, coordinate support plans and advocate for residents with complex needs, helping them build independent lives within the community.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with housing and support needs, including homelessness or temporary accommodation.
• Ability to build positive relationships with residents, landlords and partner agencies.
• Strong assessment, problem-solving and case management skills.

Responsibilities

• Help residents move from homelessness services into private rented accommodation and provide ongoing floating support.
• Coordinate person-centred support plans, assess needs and manage a varied caseload.
• Advocate for residents with complex needs and liaise with landlords and services to sustain tenancies.
