Stevenage Borough Council is seeking a Specialist Support Officer (Tenancy Sustainment) to support tenants in general needs accommodation. You will assess applicants, assist with benefits, and help clients sustain their tenancies through advisory support in the community.

You will work with diverse service users, including those with complex needs, and you may need to travel with a business-insured vehicle. The role requires a proactive, flexible and compassionate approach.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills at all levels.

• Good organisational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Experience managing complex cases and solving problems.

Responsabilités

• Provide tenancy sustainment support for tenants in general needs housing.
• Assess applicants moving on from supported accommodation.
• Assist with benefit claims and accessing employment.
• Work with other teams and agencies to support clients.
• Travel with a vehicle insured for business use; mileage allowance payable.
• Develop high levels of personal contact to maximise engagement.
