Tai Pawb is seeking a full-time Floating Support Worker for its Lighthouse Project in Newport to provide housing-related support to adults. The role focuses on enabling tenancy sustainment, signposting, and linkages with health services, utilities, and benefits while maintaining person-centred, needs-led support.

The role involves liaison with landlords, completing referrals and grants, and coordinating with other agencies to meet clients’ housing needs, with an emphasis on empowerment and goal

Qualifications

• Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people.
• Passion and enthusiasm for supporting people to live as independently as possible.
• Strong initiative and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to manage challenging and conflicting situations.
• Understanding of homelessness processes and the ability to signpost and support those experiencing housing issues.
• A full driving licence and access to a car.

Responsabilités

• Providing resettlement support, including setting up tenancies, arranging utilities, and registering with health services.
• Completing grant applications.
• Completing referral forms.
• Supporting individuals to maximise their income, ensure appropriate benefits are in place, and receive support with debt management, budgeting, and setting up sustainable repayment arrangements.
• Liaising with landlords.
• Working closely with other agencies and professionals to ensure customers’ support needs are met.
• Completing administrative tasks, including risk assessments, needs assessments, and support plans.
• Monitoring customer outcomes in line with Housing Support Grant requirements.
