Job summary

Saab UK is seeking a Flight Control Systems Engineer to develop, test and deploy safety critical software for aircraft flight systems. You will work with MATLAB/Simulink to craft flight control laws and data processing algorithms, then validate via bespoke simulations and real-world flight testing near Bedford.

Collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and ongoing process improvement are key. The role emphasizes hands-on experience with embedded, real-time systems and DO-178/ED-20x software

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in aerospace engineering or similar.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and test safety critical software contributing to flight systems.
• Use MATLAB/Simulink to generate software such as novel flight control laws and data manipulation algorithms.
• Deploy software to target hardware and conduct real world flight testing near the office.
• Present testing findings in reports or customer facing presentations.
• Contribute to SOPs, continuous improvement, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
