Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting experienced Classroom Assistants to support SEN and SEMH provisions in Street and surrounding areas. These flexible supply roles offer part-time hours and a September 2026 start date, with earlier starts available.

You will work across multiple specialist settings, providing classroom-based support, helping pupils with learning needs, autism, and SEMH, and building positive relationships with staff and learners from day one.

Qualifications

• Flexible and adaptable approach to varied settings.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with pupils and staff.
• Confidence supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH and learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Providing classroom-based support during lessons.
• Assisting students with Autism, SEMH needs and learning difficulties.
• Encouraging participation in educational activities.
• Supporting communication and social interaction.
• Helping maintain a calm and structured learning atmosphere.
• Reinforcing positive behaviour strategies.
• Supporting personal development and independence.
• Working alongside teaching staff to ensure pupils receive the support they require.
