Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting experienced SEN Teacher Assistants to support specialist education provisions across Chard and nearby locations. This ad-hoc supply role offers flexibility and the chance to work in various SEN/SEMH settings.

Ideal candidates will have prior SEN or SEMH experience, strong communication, and the ability to integrate quickly into established teams to provide immediate pupil support. Competitive pay and ongoing CPD opportunities are available.

Qualifications

  • Previous SEN or SEMH experience.
  • Proactive and dependable approach.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Confidence supporting pupils with diverse needs.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments.

  • Experience in education, care, residential support, youth work or alternate provision settings valued.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils individually and in small groups.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging learning activities.
  • Promoting emotional wellbeing and confidence.
  • Encouraging positive engagement throughout the school day.
  • Supporting learners with Autism, SEMH needs and additional learning requirements.
  • Implementing support strategies in line with individual plans.
  • Helping maintain safe, structured and inclusive learning spaces.
  • Contributing to a positive educational experience for all pupils.
