Job summary

MD2 Recruitment Ltd is seeking compassionate, experienced mentors to support young people with special educational needs in Hertfordshire and Central Bedfordshire. This self-employed, referral-based role offers flexible hours during term time and involves delivering personalised mentoring sessions and safeguarding duties.

You will build trust, help young people gain confidence and independence, and liaise with families and professionals to support education, tuition and community activities.

Qualifications

• Two years’ direct experience supporting young people with SEND.
• Ability to build rapport with reluctant learners.
• Full UK driving license with access to car.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored individual mentoring sessions.
• Maintain professional boundaries and build trust.
• Promote confidence, resilience and social skills.
• Support engagement with education and community activities.
• Keep session notes and report progress.
• Communicate with families and professionals; safeguarding.
• Follow safeguarding and risk assessments.
• Work with individual support plans and confidentiality.
