Job summary

SENse Learning is hiring Education Mentors in Bedford to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support to SEND learners in homes and community settings. You will work flexibly, crafting sessions with parents, carers or schools to fit each learner's needs, helping them develop life skills and confidence.

The role is self-employed with competitive pay (£18–£23 per hour), and a flexible schedule. DBS enhanced checks and safeguarding knowledge are expected to ensure safe learning environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience with children or young people with complex needs (ASC, SEMH, etc.).
• Ability to deliver in home and community settings with a child-centred approach.
• DBS enhanced check and two professional references are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with learners and families.
• Provide one-to-one mentoring in homes and community settings.
• Support life skills, confidence and independence through tailored activities.
• Apply trauma-informed strategies and support emotional regulation.
• Provide progress feedback to tailor ongoing support.
