Job summary

Randstad Education in Castle Cary is seeking a Secondary Teaching Assistant for day-to-day supply roles. You’ll support students across Key Stage 3 and 4, help the class teacher, and promote a safe, engaging learning environment.

Flexible, term-time hours, 8:30–3:30, Monday to Friday, with pay between £92.56 and £95 per day paid weekly via PAYE. Prior experience with young people and DBS willingness are desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum GCSE Grade C/4 in English and Maths; degree or TA qualification (Level 2/3) is an advantage but not essential.
• Flexible, proactive approach to different classroom settings and age groups.

Responsibilities

• Support individual students or small groups across KS3- KS4 (Years 7-11).
• Assist class teachers with general classroom support and keeping students engaged.
• Help implement tailored support for students with SEN or additional learning requirements.
• Promote positive behaviour and a welcoming, safe learning space.
• Adapt quickly to different subjects and classroom environments throughout the day.
