Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Secondary Teaching Assistant for day-to-day supply in Castle Cary. Join a friendly school and gain varied secondary experience across multiple subjects and year groups.

The role requires adapting to different classrooms daily, with pay £92.56–£95.00 per day, paid weekly. Schedule is 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday during term-time, offering flexible, local work.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young people (11-16) in school, youth group, tutoring, or care setting preferred.
• Strong communication skills with an approachable, confident manner.
• Proactive attitude and ability to adapt to different classroom settings each day.

Responsibilities

• Support individual students or small groups across KS3 and KS4 (Years 7-11).
• Assist teachers with general classroom support and keep students engaged.
• Help implement tailored support for SEN or learning needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and a welcoming learning space.
• Adapt to different subjects, age groups, and environments throughout the day.
