Job summary

One Stop is hiring a Customer Service Assistant to join our team in Sunderland. You’ll work in a fast-paced retail setting, delivering excellent service, stocking shelves, processing payments, and keeping the store looking its best.

You’ll be involved in day-to-day store operations, seek ways to improve service, and help ensure a safe, welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. Flexible working is available where possible.

Qualifications

• Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Stock shelves and maintain the store’s appearance.
• Process payments accurately at the tills and through other channels.
• Learn and apply store policies, health and safety procedures, and security measures.
• Engage with customers to gather feedback and improve service.

Responsibilities

• Know customers, serve with passion and pride, delivering natural service.
• Encourage customer feedback via surveys and the ‘have your say’ initiative.
• Work across all store areas including online, tills, replenishment, vending, and stock routines.
• Apply training to ensure safe working practices.
• Participate in seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
• Understand store performance and the role in delivering profit.
• Follow company values, make customers and colleagues feel welcome, and adhere to policies.
• Clock in and out to ensure accurate payment of hours worked.
• Follow security procedures and wear PPE where required.
• Adhere to the Think 25 policy when serving age-restricted products.
• Respond quickly to assistance calls or interventions on self-service checkouts.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, organized store with clear aisles.
• Occasionally run the shift in the absence of senior staff.
• Comply with training to keep everyone safe and legal.
