Job summary

SCR in the United Kingdom is seeking experienced Residential Support Workers to join our flexible agency roster, with potential to secure permanent positions. You will support vulnerable children across residential care settings, building trust, and helping with daily routines and activities.

The role involves working with children who may have trauma histories, autism, and complex needs, requiring calm, patient, and professional conduct. Sleep-ins, weekends, and long days may be required.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months' experience working with children or young people in a residential setting.
• A clean UK driving licence.
• Be 21 years of age or over.
• Flexibility to work long days, weekends and sleep-in shifts when required.
• Genuine commitment to working with vulnerable children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day care and support to vulnerable children and young people.
• Build positive and trusting relationships.
• Support young people with their daily routines and individual needs.
• Engage children in activities, hobbies and interests.
• Support emotional wellbeing and personal development.
• Manage and respond appropriately to challenging behaviours.
• Follow individual care plans and risk assessments.
