Job summary

SCR is seeking experienced Residential Support Workers to support vulnerable children and young people across a range of residential care settings in the UK. You will work flexibly through agency shifts with potential progression into a permanent position, adapting to a variety of needs and backgrounds while maintaining calm, professional conduct.

You will provide high-quality care, build trusting relationships, and support daily routines, personal development and emotional wellbeing, including

Qualifications

• At least 6 months' experience working with children or young people in a residential setting.
• A clean UK driving licence.
• 21 years of age or over.
• Flexibility to work long days, weekends and sleep-in shifts when required.
• A genuine commitment to working with vulnerable children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day care and support to vulnerable children and young people.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with the young people.
• Support daily routines and individual needs of each child.
• Engage children in activities, hobbies and interests.
• Support emotional wellbeing and personal development.
• Manage and respond to challenging behaviours appropriately.
• Support children with autism and other additional needs.
• Follow individual care plans and risk assessments.
