Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants in Elland to provide flexible clinical support across local primary care services. The role suits HCAs with strong patient-facing skills and confidence delivering routine clinical tasks.

You will support different primary care teams with observations, treatments, ECGs and basic health checks, while maintaining accurate documentation and patient communication in a busy clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as HCA in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Phlebotomy skills desirable.
• Able to perform clinical observations confidently.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine patient observations (BP, pulse, temperature).
• Support treatment room procedures under clinical supervision.
• Conduct ECGs and basic health checks.
• Assist with phlebotomy if trained.
• Provide lifestyle advice and basic patient education.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Support clinicians with general duties as needed.
