Job summary

Locums First in London is seeking Locum Healthcare Assistants for flexible sessions across community clinics, GP surgeries, and wider primary care services in New Eltham. You will support patient assessments, perform routine clinical tasks, and help maintain an efficient clinic workflow.

The role offers weekday, evening or weekend shifts with ad-hoc and regular bookings; DBS check is required. Experience in primary care and strong communication skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience working as an HCA in primary care, community or NHS settings.
• Phlebotomy skills beneficial.
• Confident in carrying out standardised clinical tasks.
• Strong communication and time-management abilities.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conducting basic patient observations including BP, pulse and temperature.
• Supporting routine treatment room procedures.
• Carrying out ECGs and basic health checks.
• Performing phlebotomy if trained.
• Assisting with patient education and lifestyle advice.
• Updating clinical notes accurately in service systems.
• Providing general clinical support to nurses and GPs.
