Job summary

N Family Club is looking for a Flexi Kitchen Assistant to join our South West London kitchens. You’ll assist the Chef with preparing nutritious meals for nursery children, keeping to dietary requirements and hygiene standards.

Based in Kingston upon Thames with opportunities to support other N Family Club nurseries across South West London. The role offers flexible hours under a Casual Working Agreement and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen or nursery kitchen.
• Good knowledge of food allergens and child nutrition.
• Ideally Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification (or willingness to complete during onboarding).
• Passion for food and nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cooking fresh and inspiring food for children, with some flexibility to meet nursery needs.
• Pot-wash for the nursery, ensuring all crockery and equipment are cleaned and sterilised.
• Follow nutritionist-designed recipes to ensure vitamins and nutrients.
• Support the chef in catering to allergy and dietary requirements and prevent cross-contamination.
• Prepare a daily lunch and smoothie for the nursery team, considering dietary needs.
• Complete kitchen paperwork and daily due diligence diary and cleaning schedule.
• Order food supplies from approved suppliers and manage weekly stock rotation.
• Adhere to H&S policy and environment health regulations.
• Cover and lead the kitchen in the chef's absence.
• Build relationships with nursery team, children and parents.
