Job summary

N Family Club in Berkshire is seeking a Flexi Kitchen Assistant to support our chef in a state-of-the-art nursery kitchen. You will help prepare fresh, nutritious meals for children, follow nutritionist recipes, and cover shifts as needed in a friendly, fast-paced environment.

You'll work under a Casual Working Agreement (0-hour contract) with flexible hours, enjoy complimentary meals, and have opportunities to grow within a thriving early-years education group.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a commercial nursery kitchen or similar
• Good knowledge of food allergens and child nutrition
• Food Hygiene Level 2 or willingness to complete onboarding
• Passion for food and nutrition

Responsibilities

• Assist with cooking fresh and nutritious food for children, with flexibility to meet nursery needs
• Pot-wash and ensure crockery and equipment are cleaned and sterilised
• Follow nutritionist-designed recipes to ensure vitamins and nutrients for each child
• Support the chef in catering to dietary needs and allergy considerations
• Prepare a daily lunch and smoothie for the nursery team within dietary guidelines
• Assist with kitchen paperwork and daily hygiene/dairy records
• Manage weekly food orders and stock rotation with approved supplier
• Adhere to H&S policies and maintain a 5-star Food Hygiene rating
• Cover and lead the kitchen in the chef's absence
• Build strong relationships with nursery staff, children and parents
