Job summary

Rotherwood Cares is seeking experienced Mental Health Support Workers to join our flexible agency team across Lancashire. You will provide person-centred support to adults with mental health conditions in supported living, residential settings, and other services.

Ideal candidates have at least 12 months' experience, strong safeguarding knowledge, and the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team. Flexible day, night and weekend shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months' experience in mental health, supported living or complex needs environment.
• Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions and associated support needs.
• Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and professional boundaries.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Providing person-centred emotional and practical support to individuals with mental health difficulties.
• Supporting individuals with conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar etc.
• Promoting independence, recovery and positive mental health outcomes.
• Supporting with daily living activities, personal care, medication support and routines.
• Building positive, trusting relationships while maintaining boundaries.
• Recognising changes in mental health and reporting concerns appropriately.
• Responding to challenging behaviours and crisis situations using de-escalation techniques.
• Helping individuals engage with appointments, community activities and support services.
• Following care plans and risk assessments, and completing daily notes and reports.
• Working with colleagues and external agencies while following safeguarding procedures.
