Job summary

Great Kimble Church of England School is seeking a dedicated helper to support a child with an EHCP 1:1 and assist in small-group activities for Year 1/2. The role includes preparing materials, supporting learning, and helping with classroom organisation to enable access to the curriculum.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to develop suitable support programmes, participate in meetings, and promote a positive, safe learning environment for all pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with diverse needs, including EHCP requirements.
• Ability to adapt activities to access the curriculum for all pupils.
• Willingness to work with individuals and small groups within a Year 1/2 setting.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive pupil well-being.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals or small groups with reading, writing, and practical activities.
• Assist with planning, organising and supervising educational visits and settings.
• Prepare classroom materials and displays under the teacher's guidance.
• Help develop and monitor suitable programmes of support for pupils in class or withdrawal.
• Contribute to EHCP/ SEND meetings and liaise with staff and families as appropriate.
• Support children during assemblies, play times and educational outings while maintaining safety.
