Job summary

West Northamptonshire Council is seeking a Stop Smoking Advisor to support residents in quitting smoking and improving mental wellbeing. You will conduct regular conversations, provide practical guidance and tailor plans to individual needs, building confidence and tracking progress across weeks of one-to-one and clinic work.

You will run drop-in sessions with mental health organisations, collaborate with partner services, and keep accurate records while helping people stay motivated through

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people through change in health/w wellbeing contexts.
• Ability to conduct conversations and motivate change using motivational interviewing.
• Comfort with IT systems and keeping accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and group stop smoking support through conversations and motivational interviewing.
• Run drop-in sessions with mental health organisations to access support.
• Maintain accurate records and appointments across different systems.
• Collaborate with partner services across West Northamptonshire to raise awareness of support available.
