You will handle Council Tax, housing, benefits, and payments inquiries, aiming for first-contact resolution while maintaining accurate records. Candidates should have GCSEs including English and Maths, plus experience in busy public-service contact centres.

Qualifications

• GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths.
• A qualification in customer service, administration, or an advice-related field is advantageous.
• Proven experience in delivering customer service within a high-volume contact centre, public service, advice or local authority environment.
• Experience in handling enquiries via telephone, digital, and face-to-face channels.
• Skilled in resolving enquiries at first contact and making referrals when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer enquiries across multiple channels including telephone, email, online, and face-to-face appointments, delivering accurate information and effective solutions.
• Aim to resolve enquiries at the first point of contact, dealing with matters related to Council Tax, housing, benefits, payments, and more.
• Use effective questioning to understand customer needs and make fitting referrals to specialist Council teams or partner organisations.
• Accurately process applications, payments, forms, and service requests while maintaining customer information and case records as per Council procedures.
