Job summary

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking an ADHD Nurse Specialist to support the management of a defined caseload of children with ADHD in community out-patient settings. You will promote a multi-disciplinary approach and contribute to evidence-based interventions for children, families and carers.

The post requires first level registration with post-registration experience with neurodevelopmental conditions; CAMHS qualifications are desirable, with commitment to ongoing professional development in

Qualifications

First level registration and post registration experience of working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions.
Post registration qualification in child/adolescent mental health (CAMHS) is desirable.
Evidence of significant ongoing professional development in Child Health/Development or Mental Health/Clinical Psychology or willingness to undertake further study/training.

Responsibilities

Support the management and organise a defined clinical caseload of children with ADHD within community out-patient settings.
Promote and contribute to an effective multi-disciplinary/agency service for this group, working with all relevant services.
Contribute to review, assessment and evidence-based intervention for children with ADHD and their families.
Demonstrate flexible and responsive practice in a community setting.
