Job summary

Leaders in Care presents a flexible Duty & Assessment Social Worker role within a supportive local authority in Wales. The position offers hybrid working, reduced office expectations, and autonomy to deliver meaningful outcomes for children and families.

You will conduct holistic assessments, lead safeguarding enquiries, coordinate services for complex needs, and act as a key duty contact to ensure timely decisions, with a stable contract and clear progression.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Care Wales registration.
• Experience within duty, assessment, or frontline children’s services.
• Proven experience undertaking safeguarding and Section 47 enquiries.

Responsibilities

• Complete holistic assessments for children and families following new referrals.
• Lead safeguarding enquiries including Section 47 investigations where risk is identified.
• Identify and coordinate appropriate services for children with complex needs and disabilities.
• Act as the first point of contact within duty, ensuring timely and effective decision making.
