Job summary

Service Care Solutions Ltd are recruiting an experienced Assistant Team Manager to join the Duty & Assessment Team at Oxfordshire County Council on a temporary ongoing contract. The role supports frontline social workers with assessments, safeguarding interventions, and decision-making to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.

This is a full-time hybrid role (3 days in the office, 2 days at home) with pay rates up to £42 per hour umbrella (£32.91 PAYE).

Qualifications

Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
Experience in a Duty & Assessment Team.
Experience managing complex child protection cases.
Strong knowledge of statutory children's social care legislation.
Experience supervising social workers is desirable.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

Supporting the Team Manager with the day-to-day running of the service.
Providing supervision, guidance, and support to social workers.
Overseeing assessments, safeguarding enquiries, and child protection work.
Ensuring timely decision-making and effective risk management.
Maintaining high standards of practice and compliance.
Working closely with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.
