Job summary

Royal Mail is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join us as flexible (temporary) postal delivery drivers. You’ll be the face of Royal Mail in your community, delivering letters and parcels come rain or shine, with a mix of walking and driving a Royal Mail van across your route.

Shifts vary throughout the day with pay rates from £13.69 to £16.44 per hour, and you’ll need a full, manual UK driving licence (max 6 points) and the stamina to stay active across long days.

Qualifications

• Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Be prepared to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of your van regularly, and carry a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.
• Shifts can vary, so we need team players who can adapt at short notice.

Responsibilities

• As a Post Person with Driving, you’ll be the face of Royal Mail in your community, ensuring letters and parcels are delivered come rain or shine.
• You’ll drive around your delivery area, completing parts of your route on foot, providing exceptional service and ensuring every item reaches its destination safely.
• You’re expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items in line with Royal Mail business standards.
• This role is a great opportunity to stay active, outdoors and be an essential part of neighbourhood life; you’ll pass a driving assessment when you start.
