Job summary

Advance is recruiting a Casual Support Worker in Canvey Island, Essex, to support customers with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, and mental health conditions. You will provide personal care when needed, assist with meals, attend appointments, and help customers live their chosen lives.

No prior care experience is required; the role emphasises values, communication, and teamwork, with flexible hours and comprehensive training offered.

Qualifications

• No prior care or support experience required.
• Must follow a Support Plan and Risk Assessments.
• Able to read, write and calculate in English.
• Willingness to achieve the Care Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with personal care and hygiene (if required)
• Medication administration (if required)
• Support with preparing and cooking meals
• Support with attending medical appointments
• Support with social activities
• Support with independent skills
• Support with domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry
• Keeping accurate records and updating care plans as required
• Keeping up to date with your training
• Ensuring the premises are secure and safe during the night
• Supporting with meal times and food preparation (if required)
• Supporting with regular checks on the customer to ensure their safety
