Job summary

Advance is seeking Casual Support Workers in Hackney, E5 to assist customers with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs or mental health conditions to live the lives they choose. The role offers flexible hours, training and a path for career progression within Advance.

The position requires caring, reliable individuals; no prior care experience is essential as training is provided. Contact Lindsey Saunders for details; weekend work is required on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Good at working on your own and within a team.
• Excellent at communicating with people.
• Able to complete quality support records.
• Able to work every other weekends.
• Ability to follow a Support Plan and Risk Assessments and maintain customer records.
• Need to be literate and numerate in English.
• Willingness and ability to achieve the Care Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with personal care and hygiene (if required)
• Medication administration (if required)
• Support with preparing and cooking meals
• Support with attending medical appointments
• Support with social activities
• Support with independent skills
• Support with domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry
• Keeping accurate records and updating care plans as required
• Keeping up to date with your training
• Ensuring the premises are secure and safe during the night
• Supporting with meal times and food preparation (if required)
• Supporting with regular checks on the customer to ensure their safety
