Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Workshop Supervisor in Rochester to lead and coordinate the workshop team, maintaining a fleet of company and third-party vehicles to high safety and operational standards.

The role focuses on diagnostics, repairs, and efficient work allocation while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and timely documentation. A strong background in vehicle maintenance and MOTs is essential, with leadership experience advantageous.

Qualifications

• Essential: City & Guilds or HGV NVQ Level 3 vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Essential: Good communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
• IT skills and MOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain Veolia fleet and 3rd party vehicles to factory and industry standards.
• Perform vehicle diagnostics using specialized equipment and conduct hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic repairs.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and maintain workplace safety standards.
• Complete all required paperwork, timesheets, and operational update sheets accurately and timely.
• Conduct HGV MOT inspections, preparations, and emergency roadside repairs.
• Serve as the first point of contact for technicians and coordinate work allocation effectively.
• Manage contractor communications, tire services, and perform 4-point MOT checks.
• Conduct weekly workshop inspections and manage job card processes.
• Ensure proper shift handovers and maintain technician productivity above 80%.
• Coordinate holiday schedules, training allocation, and wash operative coverage across all depots.
