Job summary

Veolia is seeking an on-site workshop leader in Morden to drive safety culture and deliver fleet maintenance excellence. You will manage a team of technicians, coordinate contractors, and ensure KPIs for risk, reliability and costs are met.

The role demands strong communication, hands-on leadership, and fit with Veolia’s values. A relevant licence and IT competence are essential for success in this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or HGV NVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance; LGV Cat C or C+E licence holder.
• Excellent communication, ability to work under pressure and problem-solving with flexibility.
• IT skills and MOT regulations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety culture in the team.
• Lead by example; encourage reporting of incidents.
• Delivery of KPIs including Risk and Assurance, Fleet Compliance and Service Levels.
• Manage contractors on site including issue of permits with appropriate company procedure.
• Manage a team of workshop technicians and support staff.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify training needs and facilitate skill development opportunities.
• Act as the primary point of contact for key customers.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
• Monitor timely delivery of products and services.
• Maintain high standards of quality to meet customer expectations.
• Ensure operational targets are achieved in respect of Risk and Assurance performance, asset availability, reliability and costs.
• Report and deal with safety and environmental concerns.
• Support budget planning with technical information.
