Job summary

Peterborough City Council is seeking a dedicated Workshop Supervisor to oversee the daily operation of the vehicle maintenance workshop, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant delivery across a diverse fleet of vehicles, plant and equipment.

You will plan and coordinate activities, allocate resources, monitor performance and support technicians and apprentices to uphold high standards of productivity, quality and customer service, while performing hands-on duties such as diagnostics and MOT

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of the vehicle maintenance workshop, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant delivery of services.
• Plan and coordinate workshop activities; allocate resources; monitor performance; support technicians and apprentices.
• Undertake hands-on duties including diagnostics, inspections and MOT testing, providing expertise to the workshop team.
• Maximise fleet availability, minimise downtime and ensure compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements.
