Job summary

United Utilities seeks an Assistant Maintenance Workshop Controller to lead a busy workshop that maintains 2300+ assets, including ~300 HGVs. You will support Workshop Technicians, act as technical lead on diagnostics, and help ensure safety, compliance and high MOT pass rates.

You will mentor apprentices, manage workload flow, stock parts, and drive continuous improvement in a high-energy, hands-on environment with strong benefits and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 HGV Repair and Maintenance certification is essential.
• IRTEC vehicle inspection qualification required or highly desirable.
• Valid driving licence including C&E is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly workshop health and safety inspections and mitigate risks.
• Maximise fleet availability while meeting maintenance and compliance targets.
• Lead and mentor technicians; manage workload and ensure first time MOT pass rates.
• Provide technical SME guidance on fleet maintenance and spare part stocking.
