Avanti West Coast is seeking a Fleet Quality & Compliance Manager to ensure the safety, compliance, quality and continuous improvement of our rail fleet. You will work across engineering, operations, maintenance partners and senior stakeholders to keep the fleet compliant and ready to perform.
You will own a broad programme of fleet quality activities, manage change and concessions, and deliver assurance audits.
We’re looking for a Fleet Quality & Compliance Manager to play a key role in ensuring the safety, compliance, quality and continuous improvement of our rail fleet.
This is a high-impact role where you’ll work across engineering, operations, maintenance partners and senior stakeholders to ensure our fleet remains compliant, assured and ready to perform.
You’ll take ownership of a broad range of fleet quality and compliance activities, including:
Ensuring all rail vehicles comply with relevant industry standards, safety requirements and regulations.
Managing the engineering change and concession programme across the Avanti West Coast fleet.
Managing safety item trackers for the Class 390 and Class 80X fleets, ensuring actions are progressed and closed within appropriate timescales.
Reviewing National Incident Reports (NIRs) and ensuring relevant reports are recorded, investigated and appropriately mitigated across the fleet.
Establishing and maintaining an effective assurance programme with third-party maintenance suppliers to monitor quality and performance.
Providing clear and meaningful reporting on engineering change, concessions, quality and audits to the Executive/Board, internal departments and external stakeholders.
Managing and delivering the Fleet assurance audit programme, including appointing and managing third-party auditors where required.
Creating, reviewing and managing risk assessments and internal standards in line with the company’s Safety Management System.
Strong knowledge of UK rolling stock, preferably EMUs.
Experience working with UK rolling stock standards and procedures, including ROGS, LOC & PAS and NTSNs.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to thoroughly review technical and compliance documentation.
Strong analytical and investigation skills.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Degree qualified in a relevant engineering subject or equivalent industry experience.
