Job summary

Perfect Placement is recruiting on behalf of a leading fleet consultancy based in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, for a Fleet Maintenance Controller. The role offers an office-based path from workshop roles, managing fleet repairs and coordinating with garages and drivers.

The successful candidate will have a strong automotive background, be able to assess repair necessity and reasonableness, and possess excellent IT and communication skills. Working hours are Monday to Friday, with no weekend work.

• Ability to manage multiple vehicles and repair jobs simultaneously.

• Previous fleet experience advantageous but not essential.
• Background suited to Vehicle Technicians, Workshop Controllers, Diagnostic Technicians, Service Advisors, or experienced garage staff.

Responsibilities

• Assessing repair requests submitted via the company's in-house system
• Reviewing repair requirements to ensure necessity and validity
• Checking labour times and repair recommendations for reasonableness
• Authorising repairs and managing the maintenance process
• Monitoring vehicle downtime and ensuring efficient repair progression
• Liaising with garages and repairers to coordinate work
• Arranging hire or replacement vehicles as needed
• Providing regular updates to drivers on repair status and maintaining records
• Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems
• Building and maintaining relationships with repairers, drivers, and clients

A leading fleet consultancy based in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Controller to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automotive professional to transition from workshop roles into a professional, office-based environment managing fleet repairs.

This role offers a competitive salary of approximately £40,000, working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, with no weekend work.
