A leading fleet consultancy in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Controller to join their expanding team. This is an office-based role that involves managing fleet repairs, authorising repairs, liaising with garages, and coordinating repair progression to minimise downtime.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of vehicle repairs, workshop processes, and IT systems, with excellent communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of vehicle repairs and workshop processes.
• Ability to assess necessity and reasonableness of repairs.
• Understanding of labour times and repair procedures.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assessing repair requests submitted via the company’s in-house system.
• Reviewing repair requirements to ensure necessity and validity.
• Checking labour times and repair recommendations for reasonableness.
• Authorising repairs and managing the maintenance process.
• Monitoring vehicle downtime and ensuring efficient repair progression.
• Liaising with garages and repairers to coordinate work.
• Arranging hire or replacement vehicles as needed.
• Providing regular updates to drivers on repair status.
• Maintaining accurate records and internal system updates.
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships with repairers, drivers, and clients.
