Job summary

Kautec Recruitment in the United Kingdom is seeking a Fleet Control Senior to oversee a busy maintenance control department. You will manage KPI targets, handle first-line technical queries by phone, and coordinate with core garages and service providers for a diverse fleet of HGVs, vans, gritters, and buses.

You will lead a small team of Controllers, schedule repairs and inspections, log notifications, chase up repair providers, and ensure stock levels are accurate.

Qualifications

• Understanding repair costs and ability to challenge repair times.
• Knowledge of what constitutes a warranty repair is useful.
• Understanding maintenance spend is a major part of this role.
• IT systems knowledge (MS Office) is beneficial.
• Technical knowledge of HGVs from a mechanical perspective is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• FNOL – First Notice of Loss situations.
• Coordinating with a network of core garages and selected 3rd party maintenance providers.
• Logging repair and maintenance notifications.
• Ensuring the field service team maintains maximum utilisation.
• Maintaining updates on stock/parts and ensuring correct levels.

Overview

Fleet Control Senior

Monday to Friday - days

As a Fleet Control Senior, you will be overseeing a busy maintenance control department and ensuring KPI's are met with your team. Your day to day role will see you with a headset on, talking technical issues with a host of core garages and service providers, delivering first-class phone support to the fleet of vehicles.

The fleet is diverse and includes HGVs, vans (LCV), refuse vehicles, gritters, sweepers, light commercial vehicles and mini buses. No two days are the same in this role.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and mentoring a small team of Controllers
• Scheduling repairs, inspections and booking visits for the Field Engineers
• FNOL – First Notice of Loss situations
• Coordinating with a network of core garages and selected 3rd party maintenance providers
• Logging repair and maintenance notifications
• Ensuring the field service team maintains maximum utilisation
• Maintaining updates on stock/parts and ensuring correct levels

You will be following up recoveries as a consequence of breakdowns and accidents, and you will chase up repair providers to analyse and act on defects.

Qualifications and Skills

Understanding of repair costs and ability to challenge repair times. Knowledge of what constitutes a warranty repair is useful. Understanding maintenance spend is a major part of this role. IT systems knowledge (MS Office) is beneficial. Technical knowledge of HGVs from a mechanical perspective is advantageous. Daily communication with Service Managers, Workshop Controllers and Commercial Vehicle Technicians. A working knowledge of automotive software such as Kerridge, DMS, SAP is useful.
