Job summary

PDT Fleet Training Solutions is seeking freelance Fleet Driver Trainers/Instructors/Assessors to deliver driver induction and upgrade courses across Great Britain.

Based in Middlesbrough, you will run half-day (4 hours) and full-day sessions in category B vehicles, assess drivers, and complete timely reports. Flexible diary, travel across sites, weekend work at enhanced rates are available.

Job description

This contract role suits an experienced instructor delivering driver induction and upgrade courses. Based in Middlesbrough, the Fleet Driver Trainer works on client premises, running half-day and full-day coaching and assessment sessions in category B vehicles, mainly vans. Half-day courses last four hours. Duties include completing accurate assessment reports promptly after each session.

Applicants need strong coaching ability, sound knowledge of road safety legislation, and confidence assessing drivers of varying experience. A full UK driving licence held for at least three years is normally expected, along with relevant training or assessing qualifications.

Assignments are offered on a freelance basis at £150 per day, with travel to sites across Great Britain as required. PDT Fleet Training Solutions is looking to onboard several Freelance Fleet Driver Trainers/ Instructors/ Assessors at multiple locations across Great Britain. This role involves working with prestigious clients and delivering a mix of classroom and on-road driver induction or upgrade courses at locations across the country. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work for the UK's fastest growing and forward-thinking providers of fleet driver training.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

• Delivering both half and full-day coaching and assessment sessions on client premises in category B vehicles (mostly vans).
• Half-day courses are 4 hours in duration.
• Timely completion of an accurate assessment report.
• Desirable qualifications include being accredited as an (ADI) Approved Driving Instructor Fleet Trainer or recorded on the LGV National Instructors Register (NIR).
• A proactive approach to delivering engaging and inclusive training (positive driver behaviours are to be promoted).
• Experience in delivering courses in electric vehicles (free upskill training is available to the right applicants).
• Professional approach to the delivery of safe driving PowerPoint presentations.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Your laptop and printer (all course presentation material is provided by PDT).
