Job description

Job Overview

The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for the daily coordination, compliance, and operational readiness of the company's vehicle fleet. This includes ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy, taxed, insured, and meet regulatory requirements. The role plays a key part in maintaining safety, minimizing downtime, and supporting efficient logistical operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Schedule and conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and safety.

Monitor vehicle tax, insurance, MOT, and servicing schedules; ensure timely renewals and compliance.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle records and logs.

Liaise with drivers to report and resolve defects or maintenance issues.

Coordinate with garages and service providers for regular maintenance and urgent repairs.

Monitor fuel usage and efficiency; investigate discrepancies or anomalies.

Ensure compliance with transport laws, company policies, and health & safety standards.

Support route planning and vehicle allocation where necessary.

Maintain fleet management software or tracking systems.

Assist in the onboarding of new vehicles, including registration, documentation, and initial checks.

Skills & Experience:

Experience in a fleet, transport, or logistics environment preferred.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and compliance requirements.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management software.

Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications:

Full UK driving licence.

Relevant certifications in transport management, compliance, or fleet operations (desirable).
