Job summary

United Infrastructure in Darlington seeks a Fleet Controller to oversee vehicle locations, maintenance, and risk management within the Power Transmission & Distribution arm. Based on-site, you will coordinate sourcing, insurance, and cost controls while liaising with drivers and suppliers.

The role requires experience in fleet/transport coordination, knowledge of vehicle regulations, and strong IT skills with fleet software.

Qualifications

Experience in fleet management or transport coordination.
Knowledge of HGV/LCV regulations.
Confident IT skills with fleet management software.
Strong organizational skills under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Monitor and track vehicle locations and conditions using fleet management software.
Handle insurance claims, manage accident reports, and promote safe driving practices.
Monitor and approve repair costs to control expenses.
Serve as the main contact point for drivers and service providers.
Ensure all vehicles and plant are recorded on the Motor Insurance Database; verify driver details in incidents.
Produce month-end charging spreadsheets for vehicles and insurance.
Coordinate vehicle sourcing for projects with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
Administer licence checks for the business.
Process car applications and source vehicles for new starts.
Liaise with lease providers to procure and process orders for short/long-term vehicles.
Prepare P11d information monthly for group tax.
Administer Fuel Cards for projects.
Check and dispute recharge notifications and keep cost records updated.
Check weekly hire reports and reconcile with Fleet systems.
