Job summary

Co-op Digital is seeking a General Manager – Fleet & Compliance to lead our national fleet strategy, governance and performance. You will oversee approximately 2,000 vehicles and 1,000+ MHE, ensuring safe, compliant operations while shaping sustainability and future fleet investments.

You’ll drive regulatory compliance, engage with suppliers and regulators, and lead a high‑performing team to deliver continuous improvement across logistics and the wider business.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading fleet, transport or logistics operations in a large, complex org.
• Strong technical and engineering understanding of HGV fleets and fleet technologies.
• Extensive knowledge of transport legislation and operator licensing requirements.
• Experience developing fleet strategies and managing major supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver long-term fleet, MHE and compliance strategy for the national network.
• Lead management of the national fleet operation: procurement, lifecycle, maintenance and disposal.
• Act as SME on transport legislation and licensing to ensure safe, compliant operations.
• Build relationships with regulatory bodies, suppliers and industry partners.
• Lead major fleet procurement and tender activities to shape future solutions.
• Identify new technologies and alternative fuels to support Net Zero goals.
• Oversee supplier performance and large fleet investments to maximise value.
• Lead and develop a specialist team while influencing senior stakeholders.
