Job summary

The Celtic Collection is seeking an organized Event Planner to join its Conference & Events team at The Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff. You will manage events from handover to delivery, coordinating with clients and hotel departments to ensure flawless execution and exceptional guest experiences.

You will build lasting client relationships, produce precise event orders, and work with operations to guarantee safety and success. A strong background in hospitality or events is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales, events, hospitality or guest-facing role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Confidence using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.
• A passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and creating memorable events.
• Knowledge of hospitality, meetings and events industry advantageous.
• Experience within event sales, conference venues or hotels desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage own portfolio of events from handover through to completion.
• Build strong relationships with clients, providing advice and guidance throughout planning.
• Produce accurate, detailed event orders communicating client requirements.
• Coordinate site visits, menu tastings, show rounds and pre-event meetings.
• Ensure event documentation, contracts, deposits and health & safety are completed.
• Liaise with operational teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
• Meet and greet clients during events, acting as main contact.
• Maximise revenue opportunities through upselling hotel facilities and services.
• Conduct post-event follow-up, gather feedback and identify future opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to deliver guest experiences.
