SMS Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a hands-on Fitter for heavy mobile quarry plant based on a large Leicestershire site. The role focuses on service, maintenance and repair of loaders, dumpers and excavators on site. You will work a 55–60 hour week with in-house training and development opportunities.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, with welding on buckets, and a background in servicing heavy mobile quarry or mining plant.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on service/repair experience with large mobile quarry plant (loaders, dumpers, excavators).
• Strong background in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems; welding on buckets/equipment desirable.
• Experience in mobile quarry/mining/construction plant maintenance is ideal.

Responsibilities

Fitter Heavy Mobile Plant Quarry

Our client, a major rental provider of Heavy Mobile Plant for the Construction, Civil Engineering as well Mining and Quarry industry is looking to recruit a Heavy Plant Fitters position for the Leicestershire area on a large Quarry site. This role is for a hands‑on Engineer/Fitter based onsite.

The Role

This role involves the service, maintenance and upkeep of our client's fleet of large heavy mobile quarry plant equipment including Loaders, Dumpers and excavators. The client is invested in the area and supplies on a long term basis the equipment to its customer, large heavy plant based in the local area. The roles involve the hands‑on maintenance, repair and general upkeep of a range of mobile heavy plant mobile quarry machines and vehicles, from engines through to hydraulics and electrical systems and general upkeep. The ability to take information on quickly is key to the success of this role. Intensive in‑house training will be provided however strong Mobile Quarry Equipment, Heavy Mobile Plant service experience within mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems would be best suited and would require least training.

The Person

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong service / repair / maintenance experience with a background within Large Mobile Quarry, Heavy Mobile Plant Fitting (Dumper, Loader, Excavator), mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and hydraulics and possibly some welding on bucket and equipment. Applicants working within this industry presently servicing or repairing Heavy Mobile Quarry Plant, Mobile Mining Plant or Mobile Construction Plant would be very suitable.

You will receive a package based on a £40k basic salary (but based on a 55/60hr working week this would be £55-65k), plus benefits associated with a successful company such as Health Care, Pension etc.
