Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment is seeking a skilled Workshop Fitter to join a leading mobile plant supplier in the quarrying and aggregates sector. The role is based in Caldicot, with commutable access from nearby towns, and involves repairing and maintaining heavy quarrying and construction equipment.

The role offers ongoing training, long-term progression, and the chance to work with premium equipment from Volvo, Caterpillar and Komatsu. Monday to Friday, with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Significant experience maintaining heavy construction, quarrying or mining equipment.
• Ability to diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience with quarrying, mining or construction equipment preferred.
• Ability to diagnose faults and work independently or as part of a team.
• Based in or willing to commute to Caldicot.

Are you an experienced Heavy Plant Engineer, HGV Mechanic, or Agricultural Engineer looking to join one of the UK's leading mobile plant suppliers within the quarrying and aggregates sector?

The day-to-day of this role involves repairing and maintaining heavy quarrying and construction equipment, carrying out machine inspections and preparation for hire or sale, diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults, and completing major component overhauls.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience maintaining heavy construction, quarrying or mining equipment, hold a recognised engineering qualification, and be confident diagnosing faults across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
