Job summary

Gallagher Aggregates Ltd in Maidstone seeks a Heavy Plant Fitter to repair, service and maintain fixed and mobile plant across quarry operations. You will work with a fleet including crushers, screens and conveyors, performing planned maintenance and fault finding.

The role requires Level 3 Diplomas in Engineering Maintenance or related fields. Training and adherence to safety procedures are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining crushers, screens, conveyors and mobile plant.
• Level 3 (NVQ) Diploma in Engineering Maintenance.
• Level 3 Diploma in Installing Engineering Construction Plant and Systems - Mechanical Fitting.
• Level 3 Combined Diploma in Process Engineering Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Install pipework, valves, pumps and motors.
• Carry out planned maintenance checks.
• Find and fix faults.
• Replace worn parts and reset controls.
• Work safely in line with risk assessments and MSAs.
• Maintain workshop tooling.
• Keep accurate time-keeping for tasks and monitor consumables.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies and report incidents.

Hours of Work

7:00 - 17:30 Monday to Friday. Some Saturday work will be required.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Heavy Plant Fitter to work with our organisation to support the changing needs of our face paced and evolving business.

As a Heavy Plant Fitter, you will repair, service and maintain fixed and mobile plant across our quarrying operation. The equipment incorporates both a new fixed plant investment and a fleet of mobile crushers and screens.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Install pipework, valves, pumps, and motors.
• Carry out planned maintenance checks.
• Find and fix faults.
• Replace worn parts, reset instrument controls and clean machinery.
• Working safely in compliance with risk assessments and method statements and being willing to challenge any unsafe practices.
• Use and maintain workshop tooling in accordance with working specifications and conditions.
• Maintain an accurate time-keeping record relating to work tasks; monitor and record the use of workplace consumables.
• Strict adherence to all Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and reporting of any incident/accident of any nature to the Plant management team.

• Must be experienced in maintaining plant and machinery including crushers, screens, conveyor equipment and mobile plant.
