Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Warehouse First Line Manager in Birmingham. You will lead a shift, ensure safe and efficient operations, and drive performance with your team.

The role requires proactive leadership, stakeholder communication, and solid IT skills, especially with Microsoft Office. A focus on process improvement and safety is essential for success in this position.

• Previous First Line Manager Experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support a safe, efficient operation during shift within guidelines.
• Communicate productivity targets and hours to the team, including new hires.
• Ensure understanding of Roles & Responsibilities for the team.
• Undertake basic low-level incident investigations and escalate safety issues.
• Identify Work Instructions for review based on Kaizens and standard deviation (monthly).
• Conduct weekly performance reviews for all employees on productivity, variance, attendance, and SHE.

Pay Rate: £31,000

Grade: N

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Shift patterns: Tuesday to Saturday, 6am to 2pm & 2pm to 10pm (Weekly rotational)

what You'll Do

• Coordinate and provide support and information in the running of a safe and efficient operation, working within clear guidelines to help achieve the operational standards and defined outcomes for your responsibility area during shift in individual approach.
• Communicate productivity and direct hours targets to your team ensuring they have a clear understanding of what is expected from them - including communication to new hires
• Have a clear understanding of Roles & Responsibilities applicable to your role and to your team
• Undertake basic low level incident investigations within the work place and promptly elevate issues of non compliance to safety regulations and procedures
• Identify Work Instructions that need reviews based on Kaizens and Standard deviation and indicate them to the supervisor - Monthly
• Conduct weekly performance reviews with 100% of your employees, based on productivity, variance, dispersion, direct and indirect hours, set up time, attendance, quality/inventory and SHE [individual]
