Job summary

A People Services Officer at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust provides first-line HR advice on policies, procedures and terms and conditions to managers and staff. Qualifications

• Level 3 CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.
• Associate CIPD membership is desirable.
• Recent generalist HR administration experience.
• Experience using HR databases to record and access information.
• Ability to guide managers on policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line HR advice on policies, procedures and terms and conditions, escalating complex queries.
• Support employee relations cases, meetings and hearings, including administration and minute-taking
• Carry a small personal caseload of casework
• Maintain workforce systems, records and case trackers
• Manage shared mailboxes and confidential records
• Prepare and review reports, monitor them and flag matters needing action
• Coordinate training, job evaluation panels and information requests
• Support policy development and service improvements
• Build relationships with managers, colleagues, trade unions and partner teams
• Handle sensitive matters with tact, discretion and compassion
