Job summary

TRIA in Bristol is looking for an experienced Firmware Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This permanent, hybrid role involves 2 days onsite per week and collaboration across hardware, optics and software to develop the software behind our medical devices.

You will build and optimise software for hardware control, data acquisition and image processing, integrate with cameras and sensors, and work on performance, memory management and reliability in complex engineering systems.

Qualifications

• Strong programming experience in C or C++.
• Experience developing low-level, embedded or systems software.
• Understanding of hardware/software integration.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team.
• Experience with Python, Rust, image processing or scientific instrumentation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimise software for hardware control, data acquisition and image processing.
• Integrate software with cameras, sensors and other hardware components.
• Work on performance optimisation, memory management and system reliability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to bring technology to market.
