Job summary

TRIA in Bristol is looking for an experienced Firmware Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This permanent, hybrid role involves 2 days onsite per week and collaboration across hardware, optics and software to develop the software behind our medical devices.

You will build and optimise software for hardware control, data acquisition and image processing, integrate with cameras and sensors, and work on performance, memory management and reliability in complex engineering systems.

Qualifications

• Strong programming experience in C or C++.
• Experience developing low-level, embedded or systems software.
• Understanding of hardware/software integration.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team.
• Experience with Python, Rust, image processing or scientific instrumentation is beneficial.

I'm working with an exciting Bristol-based technology start-up developing cutting-edge medical devices company who is expanding their team. They're looking for an experienced Firmware Engineer to join their growing engineering team and help develop the software behind their innovative medical devices.

This is a hands‑on engineering position, working closely with electronics, optics and hardware engineers to develop reliable, high-performance software for complex physical systems.

What you'll be doing
